Daily Closures

Broadway Corridor Lower Segment (East Houston Street to IH-35)
& Avenue B and North Alamo Bike Lanes

Current and planned work:

  • Broadway (Roy Smith to Houston): Final asphalt paving completed. Roadway striping, signage, bike racks, trash cans, and limestone benches installed beginning the week of 10.21.24
  • Broadway (E. Jones to Roy Smith): Permeable brick paver parking installation completed.
  • Broadway (Brooklyn to Pecan): Sidewalks completed. Brick paver installation, landscaping, signal work, and pedestrian lights continues.
  • Broadway (4th Street to 3rd  Street): Fully closed for remaining brick paver installation, landscaping, and pedestrian lights. Detour signage on site. The roadway is open at the end of each day.
  • Broadway (Brooklyn to Roy Smith): CPS Roadway lighting installation ongoing.

Project Notes:

  • Contractor Sundt Construction continues reconstruction on the Broadway Corridor Lower Segment (E. Houston St. to IH-35) project, and bike lane work on the Avenue B and N. Alamo Bike Lane project.
  • The entire project corridor is open to vehicular traffic.
  • Avenue B, McCullough, and N. Alamo bike lanes are completed.
  • All work is weather permitting, construction scheduling adjusted daily as needed by Sundt.

This work is associated with the $42 Million, 2017 Bond Project. Businesses and residents have sidewalk and parking lot accessibility. Bike lane work is in association with the Avenue B/North Alamo bike lanes. Access to local traffic and businesses will be maintained. Public Works Department will continue to communicate any changes or updates to Council District 1 & 2 and Council District staff, surrounding businesses and residents.
